reality television
April 10, 2008back when i was in college, i loved reality television. survivor i think was the only one i watched religiously but there were also others that i saw almost regularly. i remember this show posing as a reality show for this one guy who thinks he really is in one of those tv programs. it was big brother style, everything that was done was seen, everything that was said was heard, typical reality tv. but everybody in that show were actors acting in front of the guy who thinks he’s in a real reality tv show. it was an amazing idea, specially because this guy was a really nice dude and the show wanted to just reward the guy for being an amazing person.
so why am i talking about this?
i think relationships are like reality shows. when you see it on tv, you’ll tell yourself, “man, i can do that”. but somehow, you’ll end up getting kicked out midway through the show. an episode are almost always surrounded by people or things that constantly want to take you down – coming up with the most heinous plans and devices.
however, when you all get past these, you’ll win the million dollars. and nothing is sweeter than something that you’ve worked hard for.
